ABOUT THE EVENT /
The Martin Luther King, Jr & Coretta Scott King Unity Breakfast
Every year on the 1st Sunday in March, leaders from all walks of life, from all around the world join area leaders, civil rights icons, youth leaders and the community in an ecumenical service signifying the unity of faiths that spoke against voting discrimination years ago. The Martin and Coretta Scott King Unity Breakfast is a celebration of the cultural and spiritual diversity of the voting rights movement and a call for people of all faiths to work together. During this event, leaders challenge and seek to bring change to social issues and promote unity in the community and the world. Past speakers at the Unity Breakfast include President Barack Obama (just after he announced his candidacy for president), Attorney General Eric Holder, and Vice-President Joe Biden. Please join us in 2017 as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of this event. Let’s continue this legacy!
